Concepcion Ramirez Diaz (“Concha”) is an Immigration Paralegal who is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Concha was born in Oaxaca, Mexico, and moved to the United States in 2006.

She graduated from Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC, with an Arts Degree and General Studies Associates degree. As a DACA recipient, she understands the positive impact of having a work permit on one’s life.

Concha joined Helen Tarokic Law PLLC in June 2020. She investigates facts and researches immigration law. She prepares immigration and naturalization applications under attorney supervision, using software, databases, record locators, and case management systems. She communicates with clients and researches public records to obtain evidence. She trains new legal assistants and supervises them as needed. She helps keep communication ongoing between our clients and attorneys. She helps with complex immigration cases, including U-visas, T-visas, VAWA, and permanent residency cases. She enjoys working on EAD, DACA, and TPS applications, and helping people apply for naturalization (U.S. citizenship) is a priority. Concha has also assisted with business immigration cases and matters related to removal defense.

Concha brought many years of immigration paralegal experience to Helen Tarokic Law, previously working with another firm. There she had assisted in filing various cases for U visas, Parole in Place (PIP), Naturalization, DACA (initial/ renewals), Adjustment of Status to Permanent Resident, employment authorization renewals, green card renewals, FOIAs, obtaining FBI background checks, and verbal translations during consultations and jail visits.

Concha has attended multiple AILA conferences to keep on top of immigration hot topics and protocols.

Concha has enjoyed attending the AILA immigration conferences because she always learns something new about immigration law and policy. Every year, she loves attending Continuing Legal Education classes. She says it is eye-opening to see how many other lawyers and paralegals are fighting the good fight for immigrants to have lawful status in the United States, as well as civil and human rights.
